For Me It’s PERSONAL: Why I Wrote “A Shift Toward Abundance”

Written By Millen Livis

“In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility.” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

Tomorrow is a very special day for me… After a long time of writing, working, falling, getting back up, falling, getting back up and waiting, I am ready to launch my second book about living ABUNDANT life and becoming Financially Free.

I cannot tell you how exciting, how huge it is for me…. As a first generation immigrant in this country who, when she came to the US, didn’t speak English and had no money in her pocket but had a BIG DREAM in her heart, I am a living proof that we truly SHAPE OUR LIVES and OURSELVES.

When I say that anything is possible, that YOU CAN LIVE YOUR DREAMS – I mean it because I’ve done it and so CAN YOU! My core values in life are FREEDOM, KINDNESS and JOY and I am relentless about incorporating them into my life. No, I am not perfect and I don’t always live these values to extend I would like to. But I strive to take imperfect action every time and will never stop trying, NEVER! When you are clear about your values and commit to being the best you can be – you become UNSTOPPABLE.

I just came back from a great conference where I met many amazing people – driven, passionate, committed to sharing their gifts with the world. But I was astounded by how many of these beautiful people had repelling relationship with money! Some fear money, others are angry at money and many wished money did not exist…. It was yet another confirmation to me how deeply rooted our money programming is and how super important it is to be aware of your relationship with money.

Money is completely neutral until you give it the meaning – a necessary evil; a friend who has your back; a currency of corruption; or energy that is exchanged for value.

Among many things, money is a language we use to express the best in us and the worst in us. Your pursuit of wealth and experience of abundance may reflect your intention to feel free and fulfilled, to communicate love and empowerment to others and to express kindness and generosity toward the less fortunate.

Conversely, the pursuit of more money can be driven by various forms of fear—anger, insecurity, jealousy, or revenge. The latter often leads to disappointments, victim mentality and comparisons.

Be inspired by possibilities. Choose to see them. Act assertively to realize them.

Abundance

Seeing abundance all around you and experiencing it inside your body takes discipline and practice. Making time for stillness; quieting your mind by meditating and visualizing your amazing abundant life will help you get into a vibrational state that is aligned with infinite possibilities, prosperity and abundance.

On my website, I offer MP3 recordings of guided visualizations for having an “Optimal Life” and “Creating Your Reality.”

One of my favorite self-help authors, Stuart Wilde, writes in his book The Little Money Bible: “Once you get real, all your energy can go toward becoming what you really need and want to become. That transformation must be part of your story in this lifetime. Making money is not enough—you will have to do something that has meaning.”

Freedom

FREEDOM is one of my core values. I am a real worshiper of freedom—personal and financial. It is my belief that you cannot have one without the other. Having wealth doesn’t guarantee you personal freedom. Conversely, having personal freedom without financial independence hinders your ability to have a joyful, fulfilling life.

My new book, “A Shift Toward Abundance” that will be launched on Amazon tomorrow, Thursday, March 24th, 2016 is my invitation to you to cultivate a financial freedom attitude. Developing an appreciation for building wealth, practicing financial discipline as well as the mindset of sufficiency will get you to this worthy goal.

A person with the financial freedom attitude values freedom more than material possessions, is uncomfortable with having debt and appreciates saving and investing. A person with a financial slavery attitude values possessions more than financial independence; is not worried about accumulating debt and spends carelessly.

In “A Shift Toward Abundance”, I offer a few strategies and practical specific suggestions you could start implementing into your life right away! My suggestions are intended to help, not overwhelm you with ideas that may feel uncomfortable. Find out what works specifically for you. If some of these ideas are new, challenge yourself to learn more!

We all crawled before we walked…. Take small steps if you must, examine your money habits and start cultivating abundance consciousness. More than anything else, I want you to realize that financial freedom is achievable regardless of where you begin as long as you have a strong desire to be free.

To your Health, Wealth and Freedom!

With Love and Gratitude,

  1. Great message! I’ve had problems making peace with money my whole life – and it took a long time just to be able to admit that. Beginning at a young age I rebelled against money, thanks to my mother who nagged me constantly to marry for money and not “settle” like she did. It’s amazing how those messages can mess with your mind and stick with you a lifetime. I’m sure many people will benefit from your book Millen!

    1. Thank you for sharing your personal “money story”, Marquita. As you’ve mentioned, getting awareness, admitting the repelling or fearful “relationship with money” is a huge step forward… And any important journey starts with a first, often tiny, step. It is my hope and deepest desire to help and empower other women to step into their power.
