Regrets. I had a Few.

Written By Millen Livis

Are you in love with life?

Feeling in love with life takes different forms….

Sometimes it’s as simple as taking a walk in nature, reading a good book, or having a glass of wine with people you enjoy to be around.

And sometime it’s about learning some cool things that inspire you and stretch you.

Remember the famous Frank Sinatra’s song “Regrets… I had a few…?

Love this song.

But don’t want to live with regrets. And don’t like seeing others living with regrets either.

I had a call with a 74-years old woman (let’s call her Mary), who applied for my complimentary consultation “Never Worry About Money Again.”

In her intake form, she wrote “I am poor. If you want to cancel this call, I will understand.”

It’s important to me to live in integrity with my words and promises. So, we connected on Zoom as was promised.

Mary appeared to be well educated and, on the surface, collected and calm.

Yet, as we connected, I detected deep sadness in her demeanor and voice.

I decided to share this story with you so you’ll not live your life with regrets like she does.

Mary remarried 10 years ago and life ahead seemed exciting at first.

Then her husband (4 years senior) lost his job…. They declared bankruptcy (while in their mid-60s)  and she was persuaded to sell her annuities – the only reliable fixed income she could count on besides her check from the Social Security.

Now, at 74, her only reliable source of income is her Social Security check…and her husband receives the same amount from the Social Security.

Their rent for the house they live in represents 70% of their income….

Mary is trying to make some extra money (as an affiliate of an internet marketing company.) Her husband, now 78 years young. just found a new job….

They have numerous credit cards’ debt and their credit score is low. Mary is determined to buy an investment property to have an extra income… although they have neither savings nor investments.

“I was not a demanding wife,” Mary whispered…“I was trying to be supportive.” Their marriage is rocky now because of the financial stress.

Needless to say, Mary lives with a few regrets.

As I was listening to her, I caught myself thinking that, unfortunately, this story is NOT an exception…

Sadly, more and more people who didn’t receive good guidance and advice earlier in life, just like Mary and her husband, would slide from the “Middle class” to the “Poor class”.

Yes, we live in challenging times. Yes, a few people lost jobs and businesses.

Yet many people have risen. Found their way up. Transformed their pain into profits.

I asked Mary whether she EVER invested in herself, had a coach or a mentor. She said “No. I always felt I couldn’t afford it”….

Gush!  I hear this excuse SO often… And so, I couldn’t help but say to her: “You would save a LOT of money and heartache if you had a good guide in your corner.”

Look… If you change nothing today, tomorrow, next month, next year…nothing will change!

And when one day you’ll realize the COST of missed opportunities, you’ll feel BIG regrets….

It’s not fun to live with a question on your mind “What could have been different if I invested in myself – my education, my confidence, my growth?”
Regrets… I had a few…

Les Brown said: “Hell is dying and meeting the person you were meant to be.”

And here’s the email I received from Mary later that evening:

Thank you so much for your time today.  Whatever time you made for me was well spent.  God bless you for your sincere direct approach.  It is apparent that you speak from personal experience. Blessings.

Love yourself.

Invest in yourself (the best investment you can find.)
Act in integrity with YOUR values and YOUR dreams.

And fall in love with life.

To your Health, Wealth, and Freedom!

P.S.  If you have a dream to become financially free, confident, and secure from the inside out, yet are not sure what path will get you there faster and easier, book a complimentary consultation with me. I guarantee you’ll get a few golden nuggets from it.
