When you are trapped in the trance of unworthiness, you don’t recognize what is happening inside you. You don’t realize that your view of who you are is distorted and your heart is hardened.

To recover from the trance, to open your heart and allow kindness and love to nurture you is not an easy fix. It’s a process. The hidden pockets of inadequacy and insecurity have a way of persisting despite your best efforts and years of practice.
However, it is possible…if you ACCEPT yourself and your circumstances and also APPRECIATE what you have in your life. When you truly appreciate what you already have, you invite more goodness into your life. That is the way to rediscover the cherished sense of self-love, joy and peace.

You accustom to experience life only in a forward moving motion. You don’t have time to pause, get still and experience life in a present moment. Yet that is what you need in order to appreciate and accept.

There is a simple visual exercise to experience acceptance and appreciation in your life. Imagine for a moment that you stop sailing through your life and drop an anchor. From a moment of stillness capture a new way to see your reality…. Then pull up the anchor and continue your journey. This pause may present a new direction, a new attitude or a ‘better weather!’ Recognize that YOU have the power to hold a pause— be in your ‘present moment’—for as long as you choose to keep the anchor in place.

When you sail through your life, you concentrate on forward motion, on your FUTURE, and there is less time to pay attention to ‘the present moment’—to your NOW. There is no anxiety or fear in the present moment, only awareness and acceptance of ‘what is.’


When you start acting in the world from the place of peace, compassion and gratitude toward yourself and others, you will start feeling relaxed and joyful. Your perspectives on people and events will shift too and new awareness of yourself and the world will bring a sense of liberation and harmony. That is the authentic power.


Once you get clear about your intentions, whether they are career, relationship or health related, let go of any attachments. Have faith that things will work out according to the highest wisdom of the universe. Allow space and time for your intentions to unfold.
