Celebrate who you’ve become
Whenever I see materials on Relationships, I see a lot of advices on “How to make a man commit” or “ How to make Him to fall in love with you” or “How to get Him and keep Him”, etc. Frankly, these catchy “headlines” make me smile and want to shout: “Don’t bother with these “sellsy” relationship “bs” tactics! Instead, look at your relationship with Yourself and see first if You love yourself. Because relationship with yourself, the most important one you will ever have in your life, impacts ALL of your other relationships. It is truly fundamental for your happiness and success.
You may feel that the whole idea of having a relationship with yourself is strange or too “new age” for you, however, you certainly have thoughts, feelings, and opinions about yourself when you have the “inner monologs” from time to time… don’t you?
Or you may say to yourself “I know that already”, but do you really live from the place of self-love, self-acceptance, self-appreciation, and self-respect?
And here is the true Secret to having more meaningful and successful relationships with others:
Perceiving Yourself as Lovable, Worthy, Good enough, Kind, Valuable, Capable and Acting in the world from that place – that certainly will make other people recognize and respond to you accordingly.
Think about your childhood; look at your pictures at that time… See how innocent, sparkling, treasured, and lovable you were back then. Now look at yourself now; you still have this inner child within you – maybe not as sparkling and bubbly, but still treasured and lovable… Thus, celebrate the journey, possibly a challenging one, that you made from this little defenseless baby to a grownup who learned how to handle uncertainties and predicaments, who lives with integrity and compassion, who wants to love and be loved, and to feel respected and appreciated. That is a really daring journey and you have every reason to celebrate who you’ve become!
