“I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why I succeed.” ~ Michael Jordan
Do you want to achieve Success?
You may think this is a stupid question. After all, doesn’t everybody want to be successful? Not so quick…
Do you think that before you start going somewhere, it’s a good idea to get some clarity as to WHERE and WHY you want to go there?
I hope you said YES!
So, let’s start with WHERE you are going – WHAT does having Success mean for you? WHAT is your definition of Success?
Does Success for you mean having an “easy life”? Does it mean having a lot of money so you won’t have to work? Does it mean having a luxury car and a big house in a nice neighborhood? Does it mean having unlimited vacations? Please take a moment right now and write down what success means for you. Writing it down helps to shape your vision and frame your thoughts around this subject.
Whatever Success is for you – the first step is to get CLARITY: WHAT do you REALLY want and WHY? Asking yourself the WHY question would allow you to get deeper into your true reasons for wanting something, dig into your feelings and underlying emotions. A word of caution: You must have a very strong “WHY” because Success is Not an easy road and it doesn’t happen overnight.
It is an illusion that one can be successful and happy without making enormous efforts and even sacrifices. Most of the time Success comes at a huge cost… it requires a major investment of Time, Money, and often your Health.
For example, being an entrepreneur is the ultimate dream for a lot of people (I am one of them). Many want to start their own business because they want things to be easier – have lots of money, vacations, not needing to go to a job, deal with a “stupid” boss, and comply with “unrealistic” expectations…
A warning to all “would like to be” entrepreneurs: If you have the vision of having your own business as a “gate to a blissful life”, you may get very disappointed… because any Success in business (and life in general) comes at the cost of going through the pain of failure and uncertainty, investing your “hard earned” money and personal time in order to obtain knowledge and experience.
Am I advocating a case here against having a business or taking a risk? NO, not at all! But ask yourself this—is your WHY so essential for you that you are willing to do “whatever it takes”, and endure the sacrifices and failures that building your own business entails? You need to be willing to get into the trenches – learn how to market, write, network, sell, publish, etc.
You need to be willing to do the nitty-gritty work, struggle through the challenges, and spend a lot of money without getting anything in return with any kind of certainty. Starting a new business is a major decision to Change your mindset, your attitude, and ultimately, your Life.
You need to be READY to invest a significant portion of your life into living your Passions, achieving your Dreams and realizing your full Potential. You need to feel, deep in your gut, that you are done with “just getting by”, living a “limited version” of you, playing it “safe”, playing it “not to lose”. You must be willing to “play to win” – do Whatever It Takes in order to realize your fullest Expression, to increase your Freedom and to live at your full Capacity.
It is a real possibility that you will experience Fear, Anxiety, and Worry, especially before you decide to start a new business, or embark on any other major change in your life. But when your WHY – the true motive for your decision to ACT – is greater than your Fears, you will become UNSTOPPABLE. You will be able to handle your own and others’ objections with ease – nobody will be able to influence your decision or convince you that “it’s not for you”.
Your Conviction to achieve 3W Freedom (the Freedom to do What you want, When and Where you want to do it) and your desire to have the best life you can have will become your strength and armor.
You never know how strong you are until you face challenges and endure whatever you have to in order to go on. Don’t give up on your Passions and Dreams. Don’t give into Complacency, Fear of Uncertainty, or the habit of Procrastination.
You have 3 choices in life: – Give up, Give in, or Give it Your All.
Your life will begin at the edge of your comfort zone! Miracles start to happen when you give as much energy to your Vision as you do to your Fears, so Stop saying “I wish” and start saying “I will”.
To your Health, Wealth and Freedom!
