I know you’ve been hearing about Money Mindset a lot, so this is NOT ABOUT THAT!
Do you want to achieve financial success in your life?
I know, it was a rhetorical question… LOL But seriously, it’s not that complicated!
Here are some of the strategic wealth creation rules I use in my wealth coaching:
8 Golden Rules of Wealth Creation
1. Write your Wealth Plan: Think BIG, start where you are, adjust every couple of years
2. Don’t lose money (be alert and exercise prudence).
3. Don’t spend more than you make (if you have dug yourself into a hole – stop digging!).
4. Don’t take risk that make you lose sleep (don’t rush into any get-rich-quick schemes!).
5. Become a little richer every day/week/month/year (develop a wealth growth pattern).
6. Cultivate and maintain discipline with your wealth creation efforts.
7. Start a business by offering in-demand products or services.
8. Take imperfect action, get inspired by your vision, lead from a place of service, not ego.
You may perceive these rules as symbolic, obvious or unrealistic. But what would happen if you internalize and apply them instead? In order to successfully grow and manage your wealth, create a structure and discipline to maintain it.
Many people chase wealth and want to become rich yesterday. They get caught up in the ‘get rich overnight la-la’ land and end up disappointed or, worse yet, financially ruined. Real wealth and lasting financial freedom requires developing Abundance Mindset, Time, Skills, Patience and Perseverance.
When you drive a car from point A to point B, you know it takes time to get to point B. You accept the fact that distance and time are aspects of travel. While you may wonder what will happen on the road, you believe in your ability to reach point B.
Although you may encounter a delay or two, don’t let discouragement enter your mind.
Accept the effort that this journey requires and continue moving toward your destination with confidence and calm.

Very well written and so true… lead from place of service.
Thank you for your feedback, Pooja!
I love the 8 Golden Rules of Wealth Creation, Millen. I’d add 1 more to your list – see abundance in the world around you. Appreciating acts of kindness and practicing gratitude gives us the opportunity to build wealth from a prosperity perspective.
Participating in get rich overnight la la land schemes always end badly. I remember a Ponzi scheme that was popular around 1999 called Maple Leaf Scheme and quite a few people in my circle got caught in it and lost a lot of money. They didn’t know about Ponzi schemes and fell prey to an offer that honestly looked too good to be true – gold for getting more participants in the scheme. 2 of the foreign organizers fled the country while 1 was arrested and put in jail. But the money? All gone.
Couldn’t agree with you more, Vatsala! Seeing abundance around you and living in gratitude for what you have is the foundation of ‘wealth mindset’.
Yes, too many people fall prey to ‘too good to be true’ schemes… That’s why I am so passionate about educating others about the importance of having knowledge about and control over their investments, let along having proper legal structure and documentation in place before investing or forming partnerships. Thank you for contributing to the conversation!
Really enjoyed this post and your 8 Golden Rules of Wealth Creation, Millen. Each one is a pearl of wisdom, but the one that caught my eye was #8 – taking imperfect action. It’s so tempting to wait in the hope that all the stars will align just perfectly before you take action, but sometimes to get anywhere you have to shoot first and then adjust. Thanks for the inspiration!
Yes, it is way too common to wait for the perfect set up of whatever and find excuses why it’s just not the right time to start right now. I’ve been down this rabbit hole myself often enough to notice this pattern… LOL Thank you for stopping by, Marquita, always a pleasure to hear from you!
Like Beverley i have been down that path with the supposed real way to get rich- this was very painful and taught me to really understand my own wealth mindset. Thanks for the 8 points xx
Yes, Suzie, more often than not the lessons we learn come at a high price (monetary and emotional)… the other side of these experiences is wiser and more resilient you!
Perfectly said “lead from a place of service, not ego”. So many have that wrong. One of my commitments is to help as many as I can, as much as I can, for as long as I can.
You ARE leading from the right place, Angela! One of the side-effects of ego-driven efforts is ATTACHMENT to the outcome, which adds pressure and diminishes joy of the journey.
